Attorney Surrogate

The Indiana Supreme Court adopted an Attorney Surrogate Rule that governs the appointment and conduct of attorneys serving as an attorney surrogate in the event a lawyer has died, disappeared, become disabled, or has been disbarred or suspended and has not fully complied with the provisions of Ind. Admission and Discipline Rule 23, Section 26 .  This rule can be found in Admission and Discipline Rule 23, Section 27, Attorney Surrogate.  Information regarding attorney surrogacy may also be found on the Indiana judiciary’s website at www.courts.in.gov.  Additional reference materials may also be found on the Indiana State Bar Association’s website at www.inbar.org.
