To: The Bankruptcy Bar Re: Amendments to Official Bankruptcy forms Effective March 1, 1998 The Judicial Conference at its September 1997 meeting approved two new Official Bankruptcy Forms and Amendments to nine current Official Bankruptcy forms. The new forms are Official Forms 20A and 20B. The amended forms are Official Forms 1, 3, 6F, 8, 9A-1, 10, 14, 17, and 18. Although the new versions of the forms became effective immediately, the Judicial Conference provided for a phase-in period during which both the new and the old versions were acceptable. Use of the new versions will be mandatory starting March 1, 1998. Of particular importance are new Official Form 20A, Notice of Motion or Objection; and New Official Form 20B, Notice of Objection to Claim. The Committee Note also provides that these Forms can contain optional language based upon local procedures adopted by the Bankruptcy Court. The Court has decided that the use of Form 20A is hereby suspended until further order of the Court. As to Form 20B, the Court has approved the use of the enclosed form, proposed LBF-2, to be used in lieu of Form 20B. A copy of the Court's order is also enclosed herewith. Sincerely,/s/ Kent Lindquist,
Chief Judge United States Bankruptcy Court |
